I wrote this song in November last year on a visit to my Gran's birthplace in Carrigart, Donegal, where we were celebrating my Grandad's 90th birthday.

I was staying in a cottage surrounded by rugged snowy mountains and angry seas, and wrote this the morning after the festivities with a heavy head.

Jim Dillon (my Grandad) put everyone to shame at his party - drinking umpteen cups of whiskey before he even arrived, then sharing a dance with almost every woman in the place, before going home to sing and drink more whiskey until 6 o'clock the following morning.

This is a tribute to him and all the friendly folk back home in sweet Carrigart...
